Latin America’s data center pipeline keeps growing. Upcoming colocation capacity in the region is expected to reach approximately 2.7 GW, on top of about 1.36 GW already operating, with nearly 1 GW of additional IT power projected to go live by the end of 2026, according to the Latin America Colocation Data Center Portfolio Analysis Report 2025–2029 (ResearchAndMarkets, November 5, 2025).
Growth Drivers
- Inventory is rising in the region’s core markets: Latin America posted the second-largest year-over-year data center inventory increase globally, at 13.7%, across São Paulo, Santiago, Bogotá, and Querétaro (CBRE, Global Data Center Trends 2025, June 24, 2025).
- Data center operators in Latin America are expected to add over 1,831 MW of core and shell power capacity between 2025 and 2030, with Brazil accounting for more than 858 MW (ResearchAndMarkets, October 16, 2025).
- 5G coverage in Brazil reached 63.61% of the national territory, ahead of the 57.67% target set for 2027 (Anatel data via TeleSíntese, August 28, 2025).
What It Means for the U.S.–Brazil Corridor
More capacity means more field work: deployment, rack and stack, fiber, and ongoing First Line Maintenance across new halls and interconnection points. Programs that span both countries benefit from one coordination structure and one documentation standard, rather than separate providers on each side of the corridor.
